John Rhind and Margaret Geddes. Notable only perhaps for being typical of the family experience of the time. Two sons who died within months of each other in 1917.
John born on 5 June 1859 in Starmoss, Duffus, Moray,
Margaret born 25 September 1862 Portessie, Rathven, Banffshire
Early 1883-5 moved to Edinburgh, Dundee Street.
They married on 13 March 1885. Salisbury Church by minister from St Pauls Free Church
They had seven children in 15 years.
George Geddes Rhind (1891 – 8 May 1917) Rubber worker emigrated to Canada May 1915, enlisted August 1915 Candian Overseas Expeditionary Force
Richard Cameron Rhind (1897 – 6 Sep 1917) 1914 Enlisted for 45 days, with 4th Royal Scots. Discharged due to ill health “Medically unfit for further military service” Probably the tuberculosis that later killed him.
